College Transcript (if you are a senior in college)

As the evaluation process progresses, Indicorps may re-interview finalists, contact references, and request additional materials. Indicorps may also contact applicants to determine their interest in the various projects; in some cases, Indicorps will ask the applicants to voluntarily change their project preference based on suggestions of the evaluation committee. Applicants will only be evaluated for projects in which they overtly express interest.

Indicorps reserves the right to make the ultimate selection of Fellows. All decisions are final.

Applicant Selection Criteria:

The Indicorps application committee is looking for qualified fellows who are:

    • dedicated to implementing selected public service projects
    • interested in India, in social service, and in his/her own personal growth
    • respectful of the diversity of religions, cultures, and traditions in India
    • low maintenance, flexible, and willing to adapt to local diet (vegetarian in most cases), dress, and customs

Special Considerations:

For projects that have multiple fellow placements, applicants may express interest in working with other applicants, however, all interested parties must independently succeed in the application process. Joint placement for non-married applicants will only be evaluated once individual applications have passed the screening process. Applicants interested in placement with another applicant must also file the Joint Placement Form.

Married couples may apply jointly to projects designed for single placements. Both must apply individually and must also file the Joint Placement Form, but will be evaluated as a team.
